Will A-Rod make the Hall of Fame?
ALEX RODRIGUEZ - BLEACHER REPORT
Ichiro Suzuki, CC Sabathia and Billy Wagner have been inducted into this year’s 2025 Hall of Fame class. Two of whom are first-ballot Hall of Famers in Suzuki and Sabathia, with all of the congratulations going to them and their well-deserved honor. However, Alex Rodriguez still awaits in the wings of the ballot, waiting for his name to be called.
Rodriguez’s Hall of Fame candidacy sparks debate every year. A-Rod has been on the ballot for four years now and his percentage has been going up ever so slightly, landing with 37.1% of the votes this year.

With six years left, A-Rod still has time to persuade the voters in his favor but that remains to be seen. Rodriguez is perhaps one of the greatest baseball players to ever play the game. If you’re a stats person, they give you all the answers you need.
A three-time MVP, World Series Champion, career .295 hitter, 696 home runs and a career .930 OPS. The numbers don’t lie…… if he were playing now, his contract would most likely eclipse Soto’s monstrous deal because his entire game was that much better. The obvious caveat to his career is his steroid usage. His one-year suspension in 2013 does not help his case and all the other players who haven't got in because of that same reason make his chances much more slim.
Cases like Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens because of steroid allegations, lesser Rhis chances, because they should be in the Hall as well. However, their reputation with the media and others within the sports industry also played a role in the writer's ballot decision. Although A-Rod did have a similar reputation, his recent career with Fox Sports seems to be improving his image.
You can also argue numerous players already in the Hall of Fame may have used steroids but were never caught. There are always going to be arguments for his allotment and his rejection.
If you were to ask young fans or even Yankee fans about A-Rod and the Hall of Fame, they would say he should get in. But if you ask others, they may believe otherwise.
His selection may come down to his 10th and final year like Billy Wagner this year.
So whichever way you lean, there is no right or wrong answer, only perspective. If Alex Rodriguez wants to be in Cooperstown sitting with the best of the best, he’ll have to wait a couple of more years to get his answer.
