THE MAKING OF A DYNASTY

ROKI SASAKI

The reigning World Series champions have not stopped their free agency spending, possibly adding the cherry on top this past weekend. Japanese sensation Roki Sasaki, to no one's surprise, signed a 6.5 million dollar deal with the Dodgers to start the weekend off.

To end it on a better note, the Dodgers added one of the best free-agent relievers available in Tanner Scott on a 4 year, 72-million-dollar deal.

This offseason has been remarkable with inquiries like Blake Snell, Teoscar Hernandez, Roki Sasaki, and Tanner Scott. With a team that already has Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, and Yoshinobu Yamamoto, the Dodgers are building a franchise that will be unstoppable.

Pitching alone is possibly one of the greatest starting rotations ever put together. Ohtani coming off Tommy John will take the mound for the first time in a Dodgers uniform. Then you have Snell, Yamamoto, Glasnow, and Sasaki behind him. It’s hard to imagine any team consistently scoring runs against this rotation.

To top that off, Tanner Scott completes an already well-rounded bullpen into possibly the best back-end in baseball.

The offense, already stacked with all-stars, has consistently demonstrated its power over the past regular season and postseason.

Now as we all know, this is all easier said than done. Los Angeles now has to show what a team like this can accomplish on the field, not on paper.

If teams like the Mets, Braves, Phillies, and Padres want to reach the World Series, they know all roads go through Los Angeles.

The American League can avoid the Dodgers for a good amount of the season until the World Series. Where in all likelihood, the Dodgers will be waiting.

If you’re looking for any way around this gauntlet of a franchise, you won’t find one. You can only hope to put together a squad to combat this juggernaut of a team. The 2025 season will be a must-watch.
